Our Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Student of the Week for May 1 was Owen Baij, son of Karen and Brett Baij of Norway. Owen is a senior at Norway High School and participates in football, baseball, basketball, and golf.
Congratulations to Owen Baij! Owen is a strong leader in athletics who consistently demonstrates teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship. Beyond his athletic achievements, he is courteous, respectful, and a positive representative of our school in everything he does. We are proud of the example he sets for others!

One of the sweetest parts of the celebration was hearing directly from our students about what makes Mr. Mendina so special — from “helping people” and “keeping us safe” to simply saying “good morning” and making everyone feel seen. Their thoughtful words and artwork truly said it all.
Thank you, Mr. Mendina, for your leadership, dedication, and the care you show our school family each and every day. Mrs. DeBakker’s Early Kindergarten class is so thankful for all that you do!

The Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Athletic Department will be honoring our high school student-athletes and athletic teams on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM in the NVAS Auditorium.
All supporters are welcome, and student-athletes are highly encouraged to attend. The Norway Athletic Booster Club will once again provide water and cookies.

A driving schedule will be created once the class begins. Please note that students must attend all class sessions—any missed sessions must be made up in order to successfully complete the course.
