At Norway-Vulcan Area Schools, our mission is to create the best possible environment for student learning, growth, and well-being. Beginning this school year, we are implementing our “Unplugged & Uknighted” cell phone policy to help students stay focused in class, engage more meaningfully with peers, and protect their mental health.
Research is clear: reducing cell phone use during the school day supports higher academic achievement, stronger social connections, and healthier emotional development. By implementing this policy, we are aiming to create a culture that prioritizes presence over distraction. This initiative is all about giving our students the gift of academic focus, face-to-face interaction, and a school day that supports both their academic success and their overall well-being.
