Register Your Child at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Today!
Registration for Kindergarten and Early Kindergarten will be held during the week of March 6th through March 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the elementary school office. Also, we will have an evening registration on March 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Our Kindergarten & Early Kindergarten classes are full-day five days a week. There is no charge for Kindergarten and Early Kindergarten. Transportation is provided to and from our school.
If you are a resident of the Norway-Vulcan area or you choose to send your child to Norway Elementary and your child is eligible for registration we hope to see you during the week of March 6th.
Children must be five (5) years of age before September 1, 2017 for both Kindergarten and Early Kindergarten. According to Michigan Law, if a child residing in Norway-Vulcan is not five years of age on September 1, 2017 but will be five years of age not later than December 1, 2017, the parent or legal guardian of that child may enroll the child in kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year if the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver.
Children currently in Early Kindergarten at Norway Elementary DO NOT need to register as we already have your son/daughter on the roster for the 2017-18 school year. Parents do not need to bring your child to registration.
We will screen (test) all children. A date and time will be set for the screening at the time of registration.
Parents MUST have their child’s immunization record and a certified birth certificate at the time of registration. If you do not have a certified birth certificate, you may obtain one at the county courthouse.
Michigan Law requires that all children must have completed or be nearing completion of the following immunizations prior to entering school: 4 (DTaP) with the last dose given on or after the child’s 4th birthday, 3 (POLIO) with the last dose given on or after the child’s 4th birthday, 2 (MMR), 3 (Hepatitis B) and 2 (Varicella) chicken pox vaccines. Children are also required to have their vision and hearing tested. The Dickinson-Iron Health Department does free screenings for vision and hearing. Call for your appointment now at 774-1868.
If you have any questions, please call the school at 563-9543.
Thank You
