Walk to School Wednesdays

Students and staff at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools participate in Walking Wednesday's as part of the Safe Routes to School program. Check out who's walking, where to meet and what time to join in on the fun!

Through the Federal Safe Routes to School Program, the Michigan Fitness Foundation and MDOT are able to provide online materials and resources for schools.  Such materials include pedestrian and bicycle safety activities and handouts, classroom activity ideas and many other educational resources for teachers to use in their classroom. Information on these resources and Safe Routes to School’s Walk to School Day can be found here!

The Michigan Fitness Foundation is proud to work with schools to teach children that walking to school is important. Walking not only builds support for healthy communities, but increases students’ concentration levels and improves moods as well, which has led to an increase in academic achievement in the classroom.  Norway-Vulcan Area Schools would like to thank all of the community members, teachers, parents, and students that help make the Walking Wednesday's program successful.
